SKINS LAKE SPILLWAY REPAIRS

The project had a very limited window of time, as the plunge pool could not be dewatered until the summer water management flows had been completed; the project was required to be completed by the end of October.
Stilling Basin Slab Repairs: Loose RCC was removed by means of jack hammering and chippers, over seven hundred (700) dowels were installed and forty-nine (49) cubic meters of cast-in-place concrete with steel fibers was placed and finished as directed by onsite engineers. Cracks on the RCC slab were also repaired as directed.
Plunge Pool Wall Repairs: Rock scaling with air lancing, removal of loose or undercut shotcrete, installation of rock bolts, rock dowels, six hundred (600) shotcrete anchors, weep piping were installed by rope access and aerial work platforms (manlifts) that were placed in the plunge pool. Two hundred and seventy (270) cubic meters of dry-mix shotcrete was applied on both the right and left walls of the plunge pool.
